With beautiful arts facilities, an accomplished arts faculty, and a gifted community of emerging artists from around the world, Belhaven has now launched a new international initiative in the arts through StoneWorks.

Dr. Colin Harbinson served as the Dean of the Arts at Belhaven College (now Belhaven University) from 2000 to 2007, after which he transitioned to become the international director of StoneWorks. This new global arts initiative will build on and further solidify the University’s vision to partner with like-minded organizations and individuals to empower the recovery of the arts in the life and mission of the church within every unique cultural context.

“No one has a better grasp than Colin on the issues, and a vision for how the arts and the Church need to again be strengthened together,” said Dr. Roger Parrott, President of Belhaven University. “He is uniquely gifted to work with the world’s leading artists, or at the other end of the spectrum, those who have given up all hope for any redeeming value in the arts.”

It is a new day for the arts within the life and mission of the church. Belhaven University is privileged to serve with others on the forefront of a rapidly growing global movement—a movement that has the potential to reshape both church and culture—to the glory of God.
