Cape Town 2010: Art & Integrity

The Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization, in collaboration with the World Evangelical Alliance, recently drew together over 4,000 delegates from 197 countries for a historic international gathering of Christian leaders. Held October 16-25, 2010, in Cape Town, South Africa, the congress confronted the critical issues of the 21st century—such as poverty, HIV/AIDS, persecution, the environment,and other world faiths—as they relate to the future of the Church and world evangelization.

Those planning the congress purposefully incorporated the arts in a wide variety of ways, including an international worship team made of performers from fifteen ethnic backgrounds, in order to remind leaders of the crucial role of the arts in Christian life and evangelism (see “A Global Platform for the Arts” for the original call to artists that we posted). Click on the link below to watch a video highlighting the arts at Lausanne:
